When I became a parent, I had a reawakening of my curiosity gene. Watching my kids learn and experiment into the world was a magical moment in my life, one that I brought, whole, to work.
It reminded me of a favourite quote, by the explorer and author Peter Matthiessen:
“Soon the child’s clear eye is clouded over…
Not until years later does an instinct come that a vital sense of mystery has been withdrawn.
The sun glints through the pines and the heart is pierced in a moment of beauty and strange pain, like a memory of paradise. After that day, we become seekers.”
The worker we all need to be, the worker that every company needs, is a seeker.
Stay curious, disorganizer!
