LAMS-TAY – Look at more stuff. Think about it harder.
This is a call to action for all disorganizers.
Don’t phone it in at work. Create the new, the next, the better version.
It requires open eyes, an open mind, and an open heart.
It means working harder at the inputs. You need to see the same old, same old with fresh eyes, fresh possibilities.
And you need fresh, new inputs too. Look at more stuff.
You need to put yourself in unusual situations, maybe difficult ones. Go for a walking meeting; take photos of esoteric things. Gather a bunch of weird and wonderful post-it notes from your team about a topic. Read a book with a pencil in one hand and scribble marginalia.
Then think about it harder.
Make a new map of the terrain. Experiment. Fail forward.
Disorganize.
This Much We Know.
